Do we turn a deaf ear to the thousands of families with or without children that are litterly starving to death? Do we turn a deaf ear when theres nowhere to turn to, to get the help they need when the rents due, or the money just isn't there to feed them? Do we turn a deaf ear when we see people sleeping in their cars in front of schools full of woman, men, and children waiting until school starts so that the kids can eat? Then why do we turn a deaf ear on America when foreign countries cry for help? R we not important anymore?

But these people can come over here with sponsors, drive nice cars when i work hard and long hours and still struggle to make ends meet. But they deserve it I guess and america is what "second in line"?
the working poor also suffers

USA is only important for another 10 years. Till the time China becomes a super power and India solves its internal problem to accelerate towards growth.
So why bother for something which anyway will die a natural death soon.

It is time to really take a look at how these people you are describing got to where they are. They are there based on the cumulative effect of all of the decisions that they have made in their life up to the present.
Sadly, we live in the 'gimmie' generation where the responsibility for getting your butt off of the street to work is somehow the responsibility of the government and not the individual whose decision making put him there in the first place. The government (specifically the liberal representation) loves this because the more reliant you are on them, the more power they have!!
The reason we help other countries is because they don't have the kinds of opportunities as we have here in America. And, by helping these countries become productive, they now have more money to buy things from us which, in full circle, is mutually beneficial.

When I was still teaching I had three kids who only ate at school
nationally 1 in seven kids eat once a day! sad fact.
it's not that there are not people who try very hard to stop this
AKA "second harvest"
but there just isn't the funding for these programs!
I good friend who works for one of these groups spends his retirement money to help seniors
The government will say they do have the food stamp program
but you ever try to feed four kids on 300 or less a month?
Really hard to read about America sending billions to help another country start a small business program there when it would be so much better here...

Compared to most of the rest of the world, there are hardly any poor people in the US. Our poor may be hungry and deprived of necessities like cell phones and the Internet, but there are parts of the world where people are starving. Besides, between the US government, the state governments, and charitable institutions, the US spends six times the amount needed to lift every poor man, woman, and child (citizen) in the US over the poverty line. I think you need to ask yourself where that money is going (because it obviously isn't getting to the poor) and then adjust your thinking to condemn the bureaucrats and politicians who are pocketing that money and taking food out of the mouths of the poor.

i do no longer understand why human beings call u.s. a 'Christian u . s . a .'. in accordance to the form all of us have the liberty of religion and meaning that: Congress shall make no regulation respecting a company of religion, or prohibiting the unfastened exercising thereof. the u . s . is a rustic of freedom and individuality, and is no longer a rustic of any particular faith. i'm no longer a Christian, and that i've got no longer something against Christians, yet, it quite is honest to declare, that the u . s . isn't a Christian u . s . a ..

Because by comparison to Africa for example, the number of starving people is insanely vast and much more severe than the USA. World relations probably comes in somewhere too.
