Buy him a card, expressing how much you appreciate him in your life and then make a romantic dinner. You can even make a coupon booklet, with each one that he can use towards an intimate moment, from an all over oil massage, to even a foot rub after a long day. He will love the idea behind it. Men aren't materialistic and if you do not have the money, then improvise and make it even more special. Then he will want to cash those coupons in, on your vacation. It will make for a hot, exciting time to remember.

If you made an agreement not to buy gifts, you should stick with the agreement. But don't let his birthday pass unnoticed. You can do something special for him without spending money. Take him to his favorite outdoor place for a picnic, have a candle-lit dinner at home, treat him to a special day of pampering where you cook for him, give him a massage or anything that would make him feel special.

Get him something small and meaninful. If you agreednot to spend money, dont spend a lot on something. One anniversairy I made huge card filled with a ton of memories we have together on it. Or, One time I made him go on a scavenger hunt, I made him frist go to where we met and they gave him the next clue, and then so on until he met me back here for dinner and a movie.

At least acknowledge him with a home made card, or something inexpensive that you and him connect with. I cut a bunch of words from mags. that describe my s/o. Very personal and creative. I even got lucky that night! Good Luck

You don't have to buy him anything. but you can cook him his favorite meal and prepare him a nice bath, followed by a massage. You can even make him a very creative b-day card w/ things that you have around your house. Treat him real special on his bday and i am sure he will be very appreciative.

Instead of buying him something, make his favorite meal and pamper him on his b-day. Or you could make him a card (kindergarten style) and bake him a cake. I'd like it better if my wife was extra nice to me and gave me everything I want that day, rather than spend money we didn't have. ;) Good luck!

You needn't spend a bunch..does he read? Buy him a good book.
Does he have a hobby...or collect anything? Be creative..but frugal.. you should buy him a little something...
