Certainly this is a decision for you to make with your doctor. However, remember that no surgery or chiropractic treatment is guaranteed to work. For surgery, there is the chance for excellent permanent relief. However, you do risk undergoing major surgery which carries the risk of worsening your symptoms. Chiropractic therapy will not cure your spinal stenosis or degeneration, although you may experience temporary pain relief. If you have extremely severe stenosis, you may experience loss of function or sensation in your upper extremities. If this occurs, the need for surgery is much more apparent. If you only have minor pain, then you have time to research and think about your options. Good luck.

There are several procedures to consider.. depending on wich one they are recommending, would give some indication of what to expect as a result. If foramina reaming, splinting with a bar, or fusion. Your surgeon won't guarantee anything.. so is really a toss up for you to make that decision. I have seen several after surgery, who complain that it didn't help...but did continue to get relief from chiropractic care. They only thing that can be flatly stated is; you will lose range of motion, to some degree.

Is a bit difficult to recommend someone when there is no indication of your location. My only recommendation for a chiropractor would be one who has gone to school in California (LACC), or Portland, Oregon.

MDs and orthopedic specialists do not like to recognize chiropractors.avoid surgery on your spine if at all possible. you said you are getting relief from what you are doing keep doing it. getting surgery does not gurente no more pain and may also increase it. iv had chiro treatment for 30 yrs, once they cut your spine there is no going back.

Two of my patients have got spinal surgery in India. One was treated for spondylolistheis by spinal fusion and the other for disc replacement. Both of them are very happy with the results.Their pain and other symptoms due to nerve compression have totally gone.

Spinal Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges spine surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as spine surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website.

The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your spine surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.both my patients had gone to India through the forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps.

You are best to talk to your neurosurgeon about this. Chiropractic can delay the need to have surgery, but it may not cure the problem.
