I was wondering how many pennies exactly would it take to save $10,000 dollars and altogether how many pennies would I have to put in per day if I wanted to do this within 3months. Also, for the quarters? How much do I need to save per day to save this within 3 months. I've went to the math problems websites and I still can't get an exact answer. Are there any mathematicians out there that would be kind enough to assist me? Thank-you in advance.

1,000,000 pennies / 90 days = 111111 for 80 days, 111112 for the last 10 = $10,000

40,000 quarters / 90 days = 444 for 50 days, 445 for 40 days = $10,000

The number of pennies it would take is 1,000,000 because there are 100 pennies in a dollar. If you wanted to save for three months, that's approximately 92 days, so 1,000,000 divided by 92 is about 10,870 pennies a day. That's $108.70 a day in pennies.

The number of quarters in $10,000 is 40,000 because there are four quarters in a dollar. To save 40,000 quarters in 92 days, you'd need to save about 435 quarters each day. This works out to $108.75 dollars a day in quarters.

No matter how you do it, you'd have to save about $108.70 each day. The reason the answers don't come out exactly the same is that everything is rounded to the nearest penny or quarter.

For a more practical way of reaching your savings goal, take a look at this website:

It allows you to play around with initial deposit amounts and additional per week deposits to see how much you can save in a given time span. For example, if you started with $4000 and deposited an additional $2000 a month for 3 months at 4.35% interest, you'd have $10,085.56 after three months.

Any way you slice it, it's not easy to save $10,000 in three months.

Good Luck!

Let's see. $10000 in pennies would be 1000000 pennies. ($10000 x 100 (# of pennies in a dollar). If we assume that there are 90 days in three months, you would have to put in 11111.1 or 11112 pennies a day. On the 90th day, you would only have to put in 11032 pennies because you would have an overage of 80 pennies if you continued with the 11112. If it were in quarters, $10000 X 4 (# of quarters in a dollar) = 40000 quarters. Divide that by 90 and you would have to save 445 quarters a day for the 90 days. In pennies, you'd have to save $111 a day, and in quarters, it would be $111.25.

For the quarters it would take 40,000 to get $10,000. To do this in 3 months/90 days you would need to save roughly 445 quarters a day. Good Luck!

1 million pennies. Based upon 3 months each having 30 days, you would need to put 11,111 pennies per day, plus an additional 10 pennies. 40,000 quarters, 444 per day, plus an additional 40 quarters. It's simple math. Use Excel. ;-)
