Yes sure do,s especially when they are morbidly obese and have obviously made a point of avoiding a bath/shower for the last 2/3 weeks and then procede to finish eating something that has been in their jacket pocket for a while you know the type of thing, long lost burger , bag of crisps etc etc and why ? pray tell do these people always have an unbeleivable amount of plastic carrier bags that must be rummaged through every 30 seconds and strangley enough they never actually take anything out of the bags they are desperately searching through then of course your stop is allways before their stop and if you dare 2 ask what stop are they getting off at they look at u as if you are a pervert making an obscene proposal then it comes to the bit where you say next stop is mine you would think they would maybe think this man wants to get off the bus in a few seconds so I shall prepare to stand up so he can get past my obese body and mountain of bags Yeh right ! thats gonna happen aint it ? so as usual you are still trapped in your seat just as the bus driver is putting the bus into gear ready 2 pull away again! just as the bus starts 2 move you make good your escape and take a stride toward the exit but no! you have a carrier bag trying to mate with your leg with all the temerity of a small dog then after getting away from that you manage 2 press the request stop button which usually makes the driver do a little gas then brake footwork mainly out of spite I suspect so then of course you have that emmbarasing looks like you are drunk run stumble thing amidst the sound of people tutting and mumbling under their breaths about drunken bums on the bus SO NO IT IS NOT JUST YOU!

I think some people do it knowing that they are annoying you. I get more annoyed when there aren't a lot of empty seats on the bus, yet someone puts their bags on the seat next to them or stretches their legs out.

Yes! Especially in the mornings and that person's not brush his/her teeth.
But what annoys me more is when the bus is full and people insist on sitting on the aisle side of the seat, or putting a bag on the seat next to them. Or when the bus is full, it's humid and stuffy, windows all fogged up and people still insist on closing the bloody windows... gggrrrr!

I know.... it's horrible isn't it.... they don't seem to want to respect your space at all... generally I get up and move elsewhere.
Although its even worse being 7 months pregnant and no one offering you a seat... I passed out on the train to London the other day and had to be taken to hospital. I swear the people on the train just pretended not to see me.... in the end an elderly gentlemen got up and offered me his seat which I declined.....
I'm not asking for any special priviliges when pregnant, but when the sign clearly states "these seats are meant for disabled, elderly, pregnant women and people with young children" you would think someone would offer the seat... it's just common courtesy.

that annoys me too. i have no problem with someone sitting beside me when the bus is crowded. but if the bus has lots of seats i just can't understand it. i don't know why anyone would prefer to sit beside someone instead of having some space

What annoys me more is when people who are by themselves space themselves out in a way so that when a group of friends get on the bus they can't sit together.

Eurgh, I know! I find it so creepy. Someone mentioned putting their bag on the seat, I do that (have got a huge bag, not unlike Mary Poppins', so it takes up quite a bit of room lol!). I often travel by myself on public transport nd find the invasion of personal space thing REALLY bad, the worst is the tube tho isnt it, all those people crammed in a tiny space....gross lol!!

I agree, it doesnt annoy me but it always leaves me wondering why...... I mean they could easily sit on there own and would be a lot more comfortable, then again maybe they just think you seem to look nice & would fancy starting a conversation or hoping it will lead to other things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, same on the beach - taps into the territorial aspect of our nature I guess.
Maybe the 'space invaders' have a different take on this though - do we all need different amounts of personal space?.....hope I'm not charged 5 points for that question
