Yes because if your belief system is different from the person you are with things are more difficult when it comes to major decisions as well as growing in your faith.

Definitely! Why? Here's the reason: At first, the "crush" is so big that you'll just ignore the differences... you get married and... oh oh, here's where the problems start. Couples start understanding how big the differences are between religions and even if they're not very "religious" this differences will become really great problems. Things like: What religion should the children have? Where do we go on Sunday, or the day you go to church or religious activity...

And finally: either you would want a divorce, or you'll leave unhappy... or one of you would have to change religion.

If you're a Christian, that's what the Bible says:
"Never marry any of them. Never let your daughters marry their sons or your sons marry their daughters. These people will turn your children away from me to worship other gods. Then the LORD will get very angry with you and will quickly destroy you." Deuteronomy 7:3-4

And also:
"Stop forming inappropriate relationships with unbelievers. Can right and wrong be partners? Can light have anything in common with darkness?" 2 Corintians 6:14

"Honey, I won't make you change your religion, but WE WILL get married in MY CHURCH and our kids will be raised in MY RELIGION."

Would you want to hear that from a potential spouse? Would anyone naively think it doesn't happen partly or entirely?

But the religious differences that cause divorce the most is intensity. Try puting together a modern and orthodox/evangelical type, it causes more divorce than differing religions.

And I get people who call me a "bigot" because I won't date christians, only atheists, agnostics and buddhists.... Go figure. 9_9

Religion is important in some cases. Your spouse may insist for conversion. Better to avoid controversial relationship.

Yes and "NO"
no cos love is divine ...eternal and religion could not be a barrier b/w two hearts ...
And .....no cos if you ppl have differnt religions .. it demands great RESPECT and acceptance of each others faith ... things like this could lead to a place where no lovers would want to be!!!

Yes!
It is very important to make sure you have the same belief system or else you could fight a lot over religious things. Like what church to go to, which church to get baptized in, etc ...

If you are sincere about wanting forgiveness of you sin and humble your self and pray believing that God will forgive you He can and I believe that He will.

He knows the very intents of your heart. You can lie to and deceive me but you can't deceive Jesus Christ.

Any attempts to deceive man or Christ are sins. Do not be foolish and risk your own soul.

Yes if you are a Christian. The Bible says we should not be unequally yoked. This does not mean race or ethnic like some people think. It means to worship the same God.

Yes, you don't want to be with someone who's religious.
They'll make your life miserable.
