My first thought was like yours, fingernails on a chalkboard. Next I would have to say is the screech of brakes followed by crunching metal. Although I am trained and certified by the Red Cross I would prefer it be unnecessary knowledge.

yes fingernails on a chalkboard but i havent heard that one in years, what i do hear is when my husband clicks his fingernails together or grinds his teeth,omg, he does it to make me cringe, i hate those sounds with a passion

My boss's voice; my alarm clock; this compressed air hose at work that my coworker has a fetish for; when the cable goes out on the tv & creates what they call 'snow'; that sound from THX Audio when u go 2 the movies; when people hold the mic at the wrong angle.

i agree with yours...i just hate the sound that comes when fingernails and a chalkboard are put together...It just sends this creepy feeling inside…:)
