Being a teachers aid is wonderful work. If half the people who answered your question had any knowledge at all, they would know that being a teachers aid isn't all about spelling. There are special needs children , there is speech therapy etc. Teachers aid are needed to help take some stress off our teachers. More than likely as mean as some of your responses were, its your children that they need a break from.Wake up folks. A kind word goes a long way. Go make fun with yourselves.

My goodness, you do have to be able to spell and stuff to be a teacher aide. I think it depends a lot upon the school district. I used to be a teacher aide in a school computer lab and then in a library, and while I ended up on straight salary with benefits and everything, I guess it worked out to at least $15.00/hour. But schools pay very well where I live. I worked in another district after I got my Master's degree, and my teacher aide was making maybe $10.00/hour. I think aide jobs in preschools and places like that pay much less.

That depends on the aide - the lesser their education, the lesser the pay. Oh, paide is actually spelled paid.

i know in texas it depends in what isd, usually the bigger the isd the more. in a small town probably as little as 15,000
