1GB = one billion bytes, or there abouts. See the Wikipedia reference below for the exact variations.
Likewise there are differing definitions of how many MB in a GB ... either 1000 or 1024.

It's the other way around. How many MB make 1GB because GB is a larger number.
1GB = 1,000MB = 1,000,000KB = 1,000,000,000B
Those are rounded numbers because memory and computers use binary (0's and 1's)
TB is Terabytes (Trillion) = (4 harddrives with 250GB each)
GB is Gigabytes (Billion)
MB is Megabytes (Million)
KB is Kilobytes (Thousand)
B is Bytes (basic 1 to 1-Thousand)

Bytes are stored as Binary so 1111111111 is a Kilo bite or 1024 bytes.
11111111111111111111 is 1048576 bytes or 1024 kilo bytes or 1 gigabyte
111111111111111111111111111111 is 10737441824 bytes or 1048576 kilobytes or 1024 mega bytes or 1 gigabyte
So the easy answer is 1024
