If they did it, fry them!!!! Ever heard of DNA testing??? If they did it then put them to death. The prisons are over crowded and it makes no sence! Why should they get to hang out and watch cable, get on the internet and surf the web, have 3 meals cooked for them every day, get to work out, and basically have a good time?
How many people, that are law abiding citizens, that can't afford cable, or a computer or internet? How many people would like to have a gym membership, but can't afford it or don't have the time to work out b/c they have to work and take care of their families and their homes? It's just not fair!!!!!

I don't know, but, from what I have seen maybe that's not such a bad thing. Many inmates on deathrow have been wrongfully executed for crimes they did not commit. Maybe it just gives the powers that be more time to find out the truth for some of the more unfortunate and innocent ones. I think everything happens for a reason. When a persons life is at stake I don't think we should really rush to a decision such as death unless we have exhausted all other possiblities. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. Maybe the delay could be saving an innocent life.

The average length of time for an inmate to stay on death row in the United States is more than 10 years. In California, it's closer to 20, some say due to the time allowance on appealed decisions that inherently provides an extension.
The reason is that a wrongly convicted person should not be put to death until his appeals run out.
If you were on death row for a crime that you did not commit --- you and your family may well be appreciate the time needed to try to clear yourself and obtain freedom.

Once convicted and sentenced to die they get an automatic appeal, which can tie things up in the court system for years. Even though they may have committed some horrible crime according to the law they have rights. I don't like it either, I would like to see these death sentences carried out a lot faster.

I suppose most of the answers come by Christians... that's what I suppose.... am I right?
Under the political aspect a mistake cannot be reverted. You can give back freedom but not life in case of a mistake. And there are tons of mistakes out there.
Second point is religion. If the only one who has power of life and death on man is God, who are we to lower ourself and take a person's life? (Even for the worst of the criminals)
Remember : Eye for an eye makes 2 people blind.

Good question, We need an express lane, 90 days if they can't win an appeal in the time , good bye, most are guilty as home made sin anyway or they would be on death row.

It is better to kill a few INNOCENT convicted, then support them on death row for years. To be globally competitive we need to reduce costs, next we should execute minor criminals as prisons are very expensive to operate. Very little crime in the middleeast where they chop off hand for stealing, it is time we got tough on crime.

Appeal and I think some time to reflect on a lot of stuff before dying. It's so barbaric if you get killed at once after conviction.

Amen, brother! Just like in the movie HANG 'EM HIGH! Lead them out the door, take all the rope in Texas, find a tall oak tree, hang em high in the street for all the people to see! Its time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground! Its time we put all the ALCU lawyers out of business!

because our legal system is a joke. but then again there have been alot of people found to be not guilty of what they were convicted of with the new test that are out now and they would have been killed before anyone found out they were innocent if our legal system would have been on the ball
