Does Viagara (or Cialis for that matter) make a man WANT to have sex more often, or does it just make him have an erection?

When a man has an erection, in general, is he ALWAYS turned on, or can you have an erection and not be turned on?

Viagra only helps the penis fill with blood in order to acheive and maintain an erection by altering a few enzymes biochemically. The process of acheiving an erection doesn't occur without a man being at least a bit sexually aroused. It is a complex chemical pathway that must be initiated by the brain. It involves several neurotransmitters and nerve impulses that have nothing to do with viagra. Drugs like viagra, cialis and levitra mostly help a man to maintain an erection. Most men with ED don't have difficulty acheiving one, just maintaining it long enough to complete intercourse. While it probably helps a bit with acheiving an erection, this will not happen without the presence of external stimuli. So, no, viagra does not necessarily increase a man's libido, just the ability to acheive and maintain an erection.

Viagara does nothing to increase a man's sex drive or desires for sex. It is a vasodialator and only increases the blood flow to the penis. Viagara is usually prescribed for a man who has a decreased testosterone level due to aging. It is testosterone that gives a man his sex drive.

A man is not always turned on for sex when he has an erection. Most men wake up with an erection from needing to urinate badly and after unination it goes down. There are other times when a penis will get hard on it's own. Most of the time, however, an erect penis is ready for action. If you wish to discuss further you may IM me.

No, it does nothing for a guy's sex drive. It just makes him able to maintain an erection. If he does't have any sexual thoughts, no amount of Viagra (or the like) will produce an erection!

The only times a guy has an erection without sexual stimulation is night-time (or early morning). It is a way for the spongy tissues in the penis to ... exercise.... and since urination with an erection is extremely difficult, the body may respond to the night-time need to urinate with an erection.

Viagra (and the rest of them) does nothing if you dont get excited for sex. Once you get turned on, the drug will help you get an erection for sex to occur. It does not promote sex, nor turn you on or anything. You must get arroused for it to do what it's supposed to do. By the way, guys in general get erections lots of times for no reason at all or the slightest thought of something sexual. That's normal. If you take Viagra and don't think or get arroused, then you suffer the side effects of the drug and don't get an erection.

im not a guy but ill answer the second half : no , the guy doesnt have to be turned on to have a n erection, an erection is cause by relaxation or feeling good, not necesarily wanting sex ... the brain produces chemicals that will make the blood flow more towards his penis and that will fill it in ... thats it.. that will cause the erection
