An answer even married men may not know. They symbolise security, love and often a great parent, the very things people may want if they are looking for potential long term partners.
OR they can deliver satisfaction with no commitment.
I'm a man and if I had an affair with a woman I couldn't possibly marry her or else how would I know she'd stay faithful to me?

I believe it is because these women know that these men are capable of making a commitment. Although this is a false sense of security since the man is obviously not commited if they are going for another woman. Usually married men are working and well established. This could be another idea.

Alot (not all) of the women who do this in my opinion do not have much of a self esteem and try to boost it and make themselves feel better by taking some one elses man (as if this is something to be proud of and put on your resume) and men most of the time think with their little brain when a chick shoves her breasts at him and offers them up for dessert. I think it takes two too tango so I don't see how either party can take full blame

It's an ego thing. They want to take something away from someone else because their own lives are so crappy. The same goes for boyfriends. Single women are so desperate that they see these boyfriends/husbands and wish they had someone that would commit to them. So, since they know that these guys are the settling down types, they throw themselves at them hoping these guys will leave their women and be committed to them.
Dillusional and pathetic.

married men symbolize commitment, strength, love, family, success, etc...women seek this in a man and also see a married man as "safe" so to speak...is convoluted thinking, but seems to be the case...also, some women want what they can't have and a married man may simply be a conquest...

Because they think they're irresistible and "better" then the man's wife. They also want a no strings thing so they go for a man who probably won't fall in love with them, but someone who wants the sex.
What they don't realize is, they're immature, worthless, and quite stupid. Karma is a tough pill to swallow, too, and it will soon be coming their way.

Because they dont' have to worry about commitment and because they are whores. Who is god's name really wants to brag about ruining a marraige? I know I sure wouldn't. Wish someone would have told my ex-hubby's slut that. She bragged to everyone that would listen about being able to snag a married man. Since then, she's moved because the town pretty much ran her and my hubby out of town, and since then she screwed around on him and he on her and are with 2 new people now.

There will be no fear of commitment between the two, as it will be an impossibility. Not all women want or crave commitment.

because you can't "have" them, they're already committed to another woman and that's a huge turn on to most girls.
