I would turn a fan on in front of the mattress and let it run all day. Sorry to hear about your problem. Is he wearing a leg bag to bed? When he lays down he should be wearing a bedside bag. You don't want nasty urine sloshing back into his urinary bladder. He should have been sent home from the hospital with a leg bag and a bedside bag.
Also, make sure the clasp is closed on the bedside bag, so the wee don't drain all over the floor.
Good luck
PS: I am an RN
