BBC News reported that the cheapest full-price ticket for a Feb. 20th U2 concert in Sao Paulo costs “about two-thirds of Brazil’s minimum monthly wage.”

Shortly after leaving for a CHARITY gig with Luciano Pavarotti in Italy one day, Bono was dismayed to learn that he had forgotten to pack his favourite trilby hat.
First a cab took the hat to Gatwick Airport from West London, running up a £100 fare and tip," ananova reported. "Once there, stewards collected the trilby and put it on Monday's 1.40pm British Airways flight to Bologna, costing Bono £442. But even though it had its own first class seat, flight attendants were concerned it would go missing or get squashed so they moved it into the cockpit. On touch-down, a £150 hired driver grabbed the hat and sped to Modena. 'Including £200 insurance and tips, he spent about £1,000 flying it out...'"

I do. Yes, he does help with world causes. But its like he is doing it solely for the recognition that he is doing it. He is at every award show, every promotion, he is just there to get his face on everything he possibly can because the musical part of his career is pretty much over. Now he is grasping at straws.

Absolutely.

Politics is one of the few (maybe only, but I won't say that because it will give something for the flamers who don't have any logical grounds to address the actual issued on which to latch) areas that people with no formal training feel completely comfortable discussing as if they are experts. Bono and his crusade constitute a perfect example. There have always been rich and poor people and there always will be. Throwing money at a problem is never the answer. The people in the poorest countries in the world are like children who have never been taught to manage a budget. To give them more money is ludicrous because they will only spend it on 'candy'. In order to help them we would have to go in, completely reform their government, their society and their culture. It will never work because we are outsiders and they would not trust us.

Give it up or give them all of your money, Bono, since you think it will work.

Yes. He is a sanctimonious idiot. And the punchline is that his band hasn't made a decent record in about 15 years.

Why don't you ask him ?? Why not support him instead of spending time trying to undercut his efforts ?? If you were in his place, what would you do ??
