He's VERY compassionate...toward those who express HIS exact, warped take on conservatism.

A compassionate leader would probably spend less time bashing members of his own society just because of an opinion in regard to those people. A compassionate leader wouldn't put forth too much effort in supporting constitutional ammendments that are blatant discrimination against a group of tax paying, law abiding, non-terrorist Americans who just want an equal share of the pie. A compassionate leader wouldn't make decisions FOR other people, but would work to SHOW how his viewpoint is worthy of consideration and then let others decide whether to follow it or not. A compassionate leader would also be ethical enough to know where Florida's missing votes went, even if keeping those votes missing also keeps him in office. A compassionate leader would score more brownie points than our current leader is currently doing. And soldiers wouldn't die, and their "misguided" mothers wouldn't find it necessary to protest outside of the whitehouse, and even if gas prices to up, he'd AT LEAST push for viable alternatives to gas consumption.

As far as a conservative? Well, most true conservatives are interested in maintaining a low or non-existent national debt, not raising it.

and Bill Clinton did not leave a lot of children behind???? Let us have School Vouchers and we can fix a lot of that! If a school dose not work let it close down not give it more money.

Poor people also have less taxes thinks to Mr. Bush but the left in the USA is not going to let us keep it like that.

Think back to 9/11/01 when we lost 2,792* people that where just going to work or going to see the towers. That is why we have to fight for what is right!

No way compassion is a human emotion. Conservative yes, he spends none of his own money but sure does have a blank check with ours! This man is the worst leader this country has had. There is a big difference between kneeling down and bending over, and know our clueless leader has us bending over a barrel of oil! I think he shall be remembered as King George the a..hole. Shame on you George W how do you sleep at night?

Conservative- favors smaller government and lower federal debt
Bush- largest growth in thge size of government since FDR and largest debt as a percentage of GDP in history

Compassionate-sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it
Bush- Cuts 2500 programs for the needy, ignores Katrina victims until "all hell broke loose", supports brutal regimes like Karimov in Uzbekistan and Nazarbayev in Kazakhstan, and favors the genocide in Palestine.

So, no on both counts.

Bush is a compassionate conservate. More importantly he's a leader who isn't afraid to lead rather then pander to what's popular. President Bush will go down as one of our greatest Presidents.

Congress spends, the President approves (or vetoes). Reagan approved loads of the spending because of the fact he made bargains with the Democrat Congress of the time to fund his puppy courses and bolster the armed forces, so the deficits ran intense. the two Bush and Reagan have been conservatives, they simply weren't very fiscally conservative.
