Let's look at "reciprocation" for this one. People expect their conduct to come back to them by way of the people they share their conduct with. Thus, one reason that revealing secrets has a fear element is that because we know the other person will feel like they should share a secret with you. We don't like to put people on the spot. Somewhat ironic though, this fear of sharing secrets doesn't seem to prevent us from violating this sacred trust.

If your afraid of revealing secrets about other people then you have probably had a bad experience in the past where revealing secrets had people mad at you etc. However, if you are afraid to disclose information about yourself I would say that you feel that the person that you really are needs to be hid in order to get people to like/love you or for people who already do to continue to do so

well first off, why is it a secret? did you do something that if anybody found out, you would get in trouble for, so you decided to keep it a secret? or maybe someone else told you a secret of theres, and if you told anybody, you'd screw that person over. or maybe, the secret is something that would make people think less of you. these are some good reasons not to tell people things, aside from the fact that it will get around, and everyone will know what you're hoping to keep away from the world

Usually people fear revealing secrets because they are afraid of a few things...
A. What the people are going to think of them after they tell them their secrets.
B. How they are going to be treated differently.
C. Who would find out if they told someone? News travels fast, you know.
D. Depending on the situation, it could be life changing if someone found out.

Well, that's my opinion on why people are afraid. Good luck.

people who are afrid of reavilng secrets are mostly likey afraid of being the person they really are but if thats not the case they are most likely afraid of what the people they most love will think. no one should care what other people think about them because what they think of you is their problem. no matter what it is they'll have to get used to it because its who you are and what you do. its your life not theirs
