I remember when Alternative music was a single genre with a single sound. But now it seems to be a catch-all label for everything and anything.

I guess Alternative became Grunge, then Alternative started adopting everything from different genres that wasn't adhering strictly to that genre's confinements-- like some electronic and industrial crept in, then rap/rock, then a little of this, little of that. It's like it keeps changing.

Its one of the best kinds of music... but I guess it all depends on what you think is alternative, I dont like all that soft rock they call alternative these days, but the old school stuff is great, chilli peppers, foo fighters, beck, and my all time fave, the smashing pumpkins... there are sooo many more, but u may consider them more grunge than Alternative

It depends I like it but some songs just aren't alternative even though it says they are.That p**ses me off.
