I would go to the tanning salon and get the sunless tanning spray, sometimes it is called the Mystic Tan. It really works and looks very natural.
Have fun in FL!!

DON'T do tanning booths and certainly don't follow the girl's advice about not wearing sunscreen. Man, people can be so stupid. You don't want skin cancer! I'm part Irish with relatively fair skin and freckles. Your best bet is to use a good self tanner. Run out and by one of the micromist tanning sprays (neutrogena's is good because you just spray and there is no need to rub it in so it doesn't turn your hands orange). You'll look great for Florida and won't have to worry damaging rays that can cause cancer or give you pre-mature wrinkles. You will be closer to the equator in Florida and will be exposed to more harmful rays than you would where you are from. Wear a sunscreen (NOT SUNTAN LOTION) of at LEAST 30 SPF, if not higher anytime you are outside. This is especially important if there are clouds out. Clouds can be deceiving. Also, re-apply anytime you take a dip in the ocean or pool. It's no fun being sunburned on vacation.
Have fun!

Im irish too and its very hard for me to tan as well. I went to florida a couple of months ago, and this seemed to work.
to tan naturally
~wear suntan lotion, not sunblock
~go for little walks (about 10-20 min at a time) and then sit in the shade. (this seems to help the sun soak into your skin, to give it a healthy tint, wheras taking longer walks may lead to sun burns.
~wear suntan lotion EVEN if its cloudy out
to fake tan
~you can buy a tanning lotion 'Neutrogena Body Glow Body Moisturizer' for about 8-9 dollars at a local pharmacy

I have the same problem - but no matter what I do, I just don't tan. Some of us will never get that bronzed look. It's genetic. My advice - Don't try to tan, but do protect yourself with sunscreen so you can have fun in the sun without hurting yourself.

There is a great lotion you can use to make your skin looked tan. It's made by Jergens. If I had fair skin, I'd buy the light to medium type and apply it in a circular motion to prevent streaks. Do not use this as sunscreen. Have a great vacation!

your best bet is in the sun if you want a good tan....if you go to a booth and tan regularly you will get a fake bake in which people totally will tell and laugh either openly or in their minds

Hi,, well your genes are against you.....ok,,, try this.... begin by using low grade UV tan lotion..... dont stay out for more than a hour at a time.... 30 mins each side... then increase......
Also, use a good moisturizer after you come in... and shower....it keeps the skin from hurting... I use to use Nozemia...it was the best on me.....
Good luck.......

I wouldn't worry about a tan. Just coat on the sunblock when you're out in the sun.

Live there, run the beach, no problem. The sun here will do it, no salons, not the same.
