Is it good or bad and does it cause problems for you and your spouse?

I'm fortunue enough to have good in-laws and get along very well with them, but I have friends who don't get along with their in-laws and it seems to take its toll on their relationship.

I have a wonderful relationship with my inlaws NOW! No relationship at all! They stay away and we stay away.

My father in law is heavy into porn and has a very low opinion of women and boy does it show! My mother in law is a control freak and disagrees with our teaching our children morals and values taught in the bible. They both hate the way we have chosen to raise our children, hate our religious beliefs, our friends, my husbands job, my hair color (joke but it seems like it!).

It took my hubby 20 years to figure out that his parents were actually actively trying to interfere with out marraige and family life. Once he confronted his father about it and his father pretty much confirmed it my husband dropped any and all contact with them.

We totally disagree with their lifestyle and they disagree with ours so its best they go their way and we go ours.

It caused many problems with our marriage over the years but I must say..the last 6 months has been the MOST wonderful...NO IN LAWS!

Im so glad you have good inlaws! Good inlaws are such a blessing. I wish I had been blessed but hey! Ya have to work with what ya get!

Take care!

I am also fortunate that I enjoy very good relations with my in-laws. The simple fact is: look after their daughter better than how they bought her up. They will have some expectations on you. You need to fulfil them (max you can).

I also know some people who doesnt have good relations with their in-laws. In my opinion, its due to giving priorities to things other than marriage and relationship.

It is very important to have a good relationship with your in laws........They are part of the family no matter what a person thinks .....in the law they are family...........and it is wrong to fight with them about kids and etc.......they are grandma and granddad even if they are not a persons mom and dad........IN the LAW they are legal
