Well, we perfectly know what's going on.
In the last 2 months all newpapers cover pages, all TV news were opened with scandal news. Pages and pages of recorded phone talking were written on papers, read at TV. Now the judgment is starting, we already knows all facts.
It's an oddity seeing you spotting this only now.
When WC was starting, Franz Beckenbauer had a clumsy talk, saying "Italy will fully pay its scandal at WC", days after correct in "Italy's PLAY will be damaged". So, the news wasn't nor a secret or poorly talked about.
Of course, Beckenbauer was wrong. Italian player and coach have no role in this scandal, their match show as worthy they are. Buffon, Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Camoranesi, Del Piero are playing in Juventus (the club I root for) who has the main role in the scandal.
The scandal is a shame in itself.
Italy is proud of its team.
About your links, the second is correctly reporting Palazzi's questions.
The first is the usual english press rubbish.
"Foschi was having dinner with the directors of Sampdoria and Fiorentina in a restaurant in Milan and I managed to persuade him to have a brief conversation on tape with me.
The scene was like something out of a Godfather film, and I half expected Robert de Niro or Al Pacino to be sitting at the next table."
Ok, what a scene...
But... what the hell they said?
This columnist doesn't write it... so the news is he feel as in Godfather movie... what a news! Pulitzer Award! I go for him!
*******RUBBISH*********
To go straight forward in rubbish way...
... dear ZinedineVieira...
Where the hell are Vieira, Thuram, Trezeguet playing?
OH! Juventus
And Zidane, Henry, weren't they Juventus former players?
...
Deschamp
Platini
...
It's definitively easier go rubbish than fair speaking, isn't it?
Please hold your rubbish...
Let's go to have a great match and good luck everyone!

This has no bearing on World Cup. This is a domestic issue only concerning 4 clubs. You also have to give credit to the Italian players from these clubs for being able to put this behind them especially as they face uncertain futures at club level.
As a Juventus supporter I am extremely dissapointed with their actions (if they are proved guilty). I was completely shocked when these allegations came out in May (straight after the end of the season).

The italian league fixing has been said a very long time, once Milan were relegated to serie B, and an ex footballer, Fontolan, once declared in TV that the serie A was fixed, but at that time no-one took notice of him.

And your point?? Got any proof for that? NO YOU DON'T!
Its so amazing how many sore losers you get! There team gets knocked out of the World Cup and they will find any excuse to make other teams look bad. Get over it. Its a game, its fair, I'm sure you've been watching it for yourself!
MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!!

All sports are fixed. The fact that the Italian league has been exposed doesn't change anything. Others will be caught.

actually nothing surprising, we all know that corruption is kinda italian speciality like pasta or pizza
remember the "totonero" scandal in the '70
hope it will be a REAL clean up this time, but I'm not convinced though
if you wanna know more about corruption ask "godfather" berlusconi
