You may want to search Yahoo!Answers for this topic, as it is asked regularly, and has gotten some great answers.

They have you undress to the waist, and put you in a robe. They take each breast separately and lay it on a flat plate (sometimes very cold) and arrange it to film properly. Then they pull down on a retaining plate to keep it in place. The retaining plate puts pressure on the breast, which is uncomfortable at best, and excruciating at worst. They usually do about 2 views (pictures) per breast, then go check to see they got good results. If not, they may have to retake a view or 2.

My results have always been negative (nothing wrong).

You take your top and bra off and hug this machine that's much bigger than you, then they use 2 plastic rectangular pieces to squish each breast in, not enough to make you cry, but just enough to make your eyes water. It's like when someone grabs your nipple and pinches it, but they don't let go.

They've found some small lumps in mine last year, so I had to have another one, but they squished it a little harder.

your breast is but under a machine and exrayed front view then side view it doesnt hurt and its done pretty quick while your standing up and the results are mailed to you within two to four weeks
