I believe for every drop of rain that falls a flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night a candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray someone will come to show the way
I believe, I believe

I believe above the storm the smallest prayer will still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why I believe

Every time I hear a newborn baby cry or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why I believe (I believe)

I believe that "I believe" was written by E Drake, I Graham, J Shirl & Al Stillman. Both Frank Sinatra and Barbara Streisand made great recordings of it.

Hi, I found this on Wikipedia:

"I Believe" is the name of a song written by Ervin Drake, Irvin Graham, Jimmy Shirl and Al Stillman in 1953.

Songstress Jane Froman, troubled by the uprising of the Korean conflict in 1952 so soon after World War II, asked Drake, Graham, Shirl and Stillman to compose a song that would offer hope and faith to the populace. In addition to Jane Froman, "I Believe" has been recorded by many others, and has become both a popular and religious standard.

Elvis Presley did one very good recording of that song in 1957.
It was his first gospel record.
