I belive they were pretty mediocre overall, but did manage to release two very good singles ( Blinded by the Sun and Love is the Law), which I would class in my top 20 all time songs, unfortunately they didn't last long enough to build on this songs. IMHO

On a scale of 'Great Biritsh Bands' scoring 1 - 10 with Radiohead and The Rolling Stones at 10 and Gay Dad at 1, about a 3. They would have been considerably helped by someone informing John Squire that it is not necessary or indeed even desirable to play a guitar solo which lasts the entire length of the song.

Had their moments in a kind of sub-oasis way, but quickly turned into a vehicle for John Squire's soloing - which may have been the intention all along as the rest of the band were plucked from obscurity and the lead singer was even a busker at one point!!!!

Love Is The Law has a great guitar line in it though...pity about the other songs. Was their second album ever released? Don't know. Stone Roses were infinitely better.

Love is the law - great.

Then everything else - disappointing.
Squire should never have left the Stone Roses, the coke-snorting egomaniac.

They were crap. Who'd have thought that Ian Brown would end up the most successful one?
