Uh... No! Read the novel 1984. I don't believe the leaders in the world's largest, most powerful nations want to take over the entire world. I think we will end up with about 10 main financial center/nation states spread over the globe and those will loosely be joined into three to five larger groups with changing loyalties. Besides being a "Big Stick", nukes are pretty much worthless to someone that wants real power. Money is where the power is and the destruction of resources from using nukes would limit the output of any area where it was used.

We need to clean our own house before we can "take over the entire planet". In addition, if we nuked these countries to gain control, the territories would not be approachable for 20-40 years. Not to mention the contamination of the ground water and the radiation that will stay in the upper atomoshere for a very long time. What's the point of taking over a planet if we can't traverse it without wearing radiation suits? Yeah, nukes are fun to watch, but have some very nasty long-term effects.
As much as some country's rulers need to be spanked, nukes should be a very last resort. Nuke not lest yee be nuked yourself. :) Of course, don't wait 'till it hits. Have definite, reliable contingency.
We have enough land and resources to be ourselves. We just need to stop the country from filling up with illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes, medical or other offered services. Illegal immigrants tap our resources, cause over population, over centralization and add to the LA traffic problem. This raises the road rage factor :)
Back to the question and given our immediate issue next door, I say we annex Mexico for starters. Go down and wipe out all the drug cartels and let the the people stay down there and prosper. Once things are stable, free travel will be allowed to and fro.
Well, enough for now.
OH! Two words...
Chuck Norris. ;)

There is no doubt that the USA is the most powerful country in the world, but to take over the world? I would have to say no. Yes you guys have nukes, but it would be detrimental to you guys in the end. Could you imagine nuking every country? The fallout from all those nukes would be felt for centuries. In the end affecting the USA too, you would be destorying yourselves. I would hate that thought of the USA trying to take over the world, since my country would probably be the first to fall. I love being Canadian. I love my freedom, just as much as you enjoy your freedom.

Surely you are joking. The whole planet would be annihilated. President Bush has enough trouble taking care of one country - how on earth could he manage the whole earth? I am Canadian living in Canada and I will NOT become American. I am proud to be Canadian, just as those in South Africa are proud to be South African and those in Poland and China are proud of their nationality, etc. etc. etc. I don't think the USA could ever take over the entire planet. I just won't happen.

USA probably can, but shouldn't. Who the hell are we to tell other countries how to run it? We need to leave all those other countries alone- cut off all money we send them each year, let them run their country how they see fit, and we really need to work on our own country.
Where does our tax money go? Why is it than when my generation gets older, we will not have social security BUT are paying for it through our hard earned money? How backwards is that? Why do we permit illegal immigrants to stay in this country and we have to pay for them to be here? HELL NO THEY HAVE GOT TO GO!
No matter how small other countries are, we have NO rights to tell them what to do.

Yes they could. They've got the nukes and the soldiers so that if they wanted to... in a matter of days, they could have the planet if they wanted.

No. We're not longer the most powerful country as some would still like to believe we are. And personally Im happy about that.
Plus, I wouldnt want American to take over the world. They've taken over enough already.

No, if China, Russia, all the muslim countries, and North Korea got together, they would definitely kick the butt of the Americans in the blink of an eye. And not to mention England which would also go against the Americans in that case.
good luck.

The US could try, it seems to be doing that with Mr. Bush. But the entire planet wouldn't stay conquered.
