unless for some reason you have an extrememly high risk pregnancy, maybe you shouldn't climb them? but assuming your pregnancy is normal, its perfectly fine to climb the steps, or exercise or anything else you would normally do. Don't be too paranoid. I have 3 kids and I climbed steps with baskets of laundry constantly and all my kids are just fine:-) also, congrats on your pregnancy!

girl...climb the steps! Indians used to work all day and squat to give birth. The more in shape you keep yourself the more likely you are to have a healthy pregnancy, birth and baby!! Continue to do your daily activity until a doctor tells you not to or you are tired. If you need to rest while climbing the steps...then rest. If you are a very heavy person I might change my answer a bit but otherwise the ONLY thing I would cut out is jogging.

Dear would be mother, be careful about steps climbing. Once u climb smoothly then no problem for the child but if u slip then child may affect. this is the time when the child develops (better have a look on some life science book), a small jerk can play a spoilsport. Wish u a very happy MOTHERHOOD.

The only time you can't climb the stairs is when you doctor says so. you can climb when you are 9 months pregnant. How do you think all these people have babies that live on various floors. sometiems we just need to use common sense and stop listening to our friends who don't know what they are talking about. You will want to get all the exercise you can get because your appetite will be tremendous and you have to feed your baby now.

You can do any physical activity that you were doing before....the only thing you can't do is start something you haven't been doing. If you weren't running a mile 3 times a week before you got pregnant....it would be bad to start now. But climbing the stairs is fine if you were already climbing stairs.

Obviously this is your first pregnancy. Unless you have some underlying conditions ' high blood pressure, diabetes, etc" then you can do anything you want. I have had 5 kids, and with all of them I have continued to do all my daily activities. Including climbing steps over and over again, carrying kids, carrying groceries.. etc.. being pregnant is not a sickness, you can do anything you would like and that you feel that you are physically capable of doing based on your size.. I would however advise against sky diving or bungee jumping.. otherwise you're free to be.

If you are otherwise healthy, don't worry. Climbing stairs will not cause a miscarriage unless something else was wrong to begin with. Some exercise is good for you throughout pregnancy as long as your doctor approves.

Climbing stairs isn't harmful to the pregnancy as long as you don't run up and down them all the time.
