If both of you share the same interests, you can actually make the use of the pc fun by surfing the web together assuming that is what you do, or get him/her on your side by chatting while you surffed or worked on the pc assuming she/he is not interested.
How I have been successful with this is to move my lap top to the sitting room and sit on the love seat, that way my partner is always attracted to come sit while i worked.
She actually furnished my home office for me and is concerned that I use it less, but I noticed that when I am there I am away from the entire family. I only use it if i am working on school project or doing some serious work from home, but getting a wireless connection and being able to work anywhere from around the home i found has been very useful. That way the pc does not come between our relationship. Before I started this my partner never liked the pc, but now she has developed interests and we share jokes, play games and do stuff together on the pc.

No, Mistress, unless it's mutual (partner watching soaps / reality TV, which I hate, and I'm playing games or working or answering weird questions online, which partner doesn't get at all.)
However, a Mistress has the right to ignore partner except when needed/useful, so just keep them leashed and handy nearby :)

I ignore everyone and everything- including my kids, husband, telephone-if I am on the PC researching material for my lesson plans or playing Yahoo Literati (like scrabble)..
YES, I feel guilty, but aren't we all entitled to some free time??!! (-;

Wow!!! Just seen your picture and if you were my partner then your question would have to be changed to, "do u ignore your pc while you use your partner?"

Hello,
Are you wondering how to downoad for free Scrabble? You can get it for free here: http://bitly.com/1oh8ifF
I was fond of playing scrabble when I was young. I use to visit my neighbor since they own the board game. We would compete and try to outwit each other to win the game. Scrabble helps us to enrich our vocabulary and keeps us entertained at the same time.
It's the best game.

No, She does her thing which is watch QVC or read while I do the computer. When she comes in there is always the pause or escape button to save whatever I'm playing at the time.

Yes, we ignore each other! Actually, we do sometimes chat through MSN messenger. We talk for 'real' too though. :)

I try my best to glance at him from time to time and still try to say something to make him feel that I was still present.
