Once you have burned a file to a CD-R, that's it. You can not change, add to, or delete from a CD-R. They are "one time use" disk.
What you might want to check in your burning software is if it has an option to "finalize the CD". If you do not "finalize" the CD, it does not write a directory for the files on the CD, and so they will not work. You may be able to put those CDs back into your computer and have the program finalize them.
Also, are you attempting to play these CDs on your computer, or on a CD player? In order to work on a regular CD player, the music has to be in a specfic format on the computer (wav) and then convert to a CD player format (cda). If you are not doing that, the CDs will not work in a regualr CD player, but would in a computer.

They are probably burned in the wrong format, like MP3 or something.
If you don't have a player for them, they are lost to you. But, you should be able to copy them of, if they are actually there, and change the format to something else to re-burn.
Right-click on the files in explorer and see what extension they end with....

If you burn a non rewritable CD than the writing on it is permanent, you can't delete it. Next time use a better burner then the one in realpalyer like Nero, if you don't have it you can download it from http://www.nero.com/
and don't forget to finalize your Audio Cd's if you don't do it like that then they will not work
