Though you uninstall applications from your system, it is not completely gone from your system. To remove it completely, go to Program Files and delete the Limewire folder. Next, go to the folder which is named after the account from which you are working on, i.e., the logged in account name folder. Limewire by default stores all the downloaded files here. Delete these folders as well. Next, you go to the registry editor by typing "regedit"(without the quotes) in the Run dialog box. In each hive of the registry editor, go to the software 'folder' and look out for Limewire and delete these. Redownload and reinstall the latest version. If you are worried about your registry editing, use registry cleaning software. Google for it, you will get loads.

If you don't want Limewire to load at startup, go to Run and type msconfig. Go to the selective startup tab and uncheck Limewire. You are done!!

Hope this helps.

I have to tell you that it is because they're all released by the same company, all of the installer from "various sources" would surely be the exact same, and this mean, all of them would be a version that start ups all the time. This is due to the default setting of Limewire, surely there is ways to remove Lime from starting up at restarts, from the soft way inside Lime itself to the "hard" registry editing, but still, all of the install setup would be a "start up by default" version
