Are there any medical people out there who could explain what those readings like 120/80 or whatever mean, would I be right in thinking say the 80 is heart rate, but what does the other reading mean? and are there certain readings for certain years of age, like 30 40 50 60 70 80,

When the nurse holds your wrist at its radial area, then she/he is checking your heart rate. Your BP is the pressure of your heart. If the pressure is too high for too long, blood vessels pop which cab lead to stroke or heart attack. 140/90 is when the Doctors begin to worry.
