For years, Guiness listed a man who weighed 1,069 pounds as the heaviest man. He had to be buried in a coffin the size of a piano. I'm not sure if anyone has passed him up yet, but since we're getting heavier as a society, I'm sure there are others who are at least close.

The heaviest person I heard of was 850 lbs. man he died last year and they had to knock a wall out of his apartment to get him out and a crane to get him out of the apartment.
