i constantly have slight and sharp pains on my chest. i dont know if it is because i sit (straight) most of the time, due to the nature of my job, or what do you think

What do you mean by slight and sharp pains and where exactly on your chest? Sitting straight does not cause sharp pains in the chest. If the pains on primarily on the left I would consider seeing a doctor. Are the pains in the breasts? Are you mid cycle? If it is breast tenderness it could be hormones. Are we talking about center - close to the ribcage area? Could have to do with respiratory area. In all cases - speak to your doctor about it to be safe since you imply this is frequent.

I have had this sometimes also. When it got worse I went to the doctor, he said it is Cosocongritis. That it is an inflammation of the lung tissue where it connects to the rib cage. He said it occurs a lot in people in my age group(20-25) that run a lot, or it can be caused by other factors. There is no treatment.

However this symptom is one of the symptoms of heart related problems so please go and see doctor.....
