If you have two or more wireless networks in range, can you connect your computer to more than one wireless network? If this is possible, how can you do that? For example, do you need some special software?

Yes, provided you have multiple network cards. Can one wireless network card connect to more than one wireless network, Not at the same time. You can setup multiple network profiles for many different networks in most wireless cards, but you can only connect to one network at a time.

There's no way to connect 1 wireless adapter to more than one wireless network at the same time. If you want to connect your computer to multiple wireless networks for some reason, you would need multiple wireless adapters. You could in theory plug several USB wireless adapters in to your computer, and connect each one to a different wireless network that was in range.

You can do it with multiple wireless cards, doing this you can create a bridge between the two networks.

A couple warnings though. If they are on the same channel, you may get interference (even withing a couple channel range of each other). Also keep the antennae away from each other, to reduce feedback due to proximity.
