Americans are much more interested in Jennifer Anniston's reaction to the birth of her ex's baby. We apparently would rather hear the the excerpts from a Brittney Spears interview. Wouldn't you rather see footage of a possible "baby bump", than to have to know the atrocities that take place in other countries, or our own for that matter? We have more people here that can't be bothered to take advantage of their right to vote, than people who do vote. This is mostly due to the attitude that "it doesn't make any difference". If we as a country can't bother to make the effort to change ourselves or our own country because we think we can't, then I'm not surprised that we wouldn't pay attention to such devastatingly horrid events elsewhere in the world. We don't personally feel such threats to ourselves or our own families, and it's much nicer to try to figure out whether Jim Carey really is dating a Playboy Bunny.

for the same reason we dont hear about the christians killing the muslims in northern africa.....we have nothing to gain from these people so why waste valuable airtime educating america on whats going on if we cannot profit somehow. i hope that our country dives more into the realm of humanitarian efforts in the future.
