I completely disagree. Firstly religion does not try to control ones life. Any form of religion (mine is Christianity) teaches the individual on how to live their life right under the eyes of God.
Christianity gives all of its believers the right to make their own personal choices whether it be right or wrong, only highlighting the fact that whatever the choices you make in life you have to face the consequences. I do not appreciate the way you people have described religion as being pure lunacy, because frankly if it was then most of our everyday laws should be regarded in the same way, given that fact that some originated from the old testament in the bible.
I am not going to condemn the way you live because frankly that's your own business, but at the same time DON'T disregard my beliefs by referring to them as lunacy and describing it as if it were some kind of dictatorship!!!

Because we need to protect ourselves from selfish and undisciplined individuals like yourself.
You'll probably come running to the same people who interfere with you life (responsible folks, government, charities, etc.), when you find yourself in trouble due to your life of excess, and demand help.

Seriously, the worst aspect of religion is how it presumes to run everybody's lives for them. And all in the name of something that doesn't exist to begin with. Pure lunacy from start to finish.

If people are interfering in your life, it is for your good and also because they love you. You must understand this and try to improve yourself. Other wise, you wont survive long, with all those habits you said you are having.
