this may seem like a dumb question

but if you have hot food in a plastic bag
why does the inside of the bag become wet

is it water condensation off the food or does the plastic sweat
from the heat

Hot foods let off steam. When wrapped in plastic, the steam is caught and trapped by the plastic which produces condensation. Steam is liquid only airborn

of course it condenses .
plastiic bag cant sweats.
the hotness heat up e water vapour at e surroundings of the plastiic bag .
these it condenses the water vapour and causes water droplets.
thus the plastic bag is wet .


this a science question on condensesation .

Warmer air can hold more water vapor than can cooler air. As the warm, moist air comes off of the food and makes contact with the cooler plastic, the air cools and the water vapor contained within it condenses into liquid water.

water is evaporating off the food which is of a higher temperature than the outside of the bag, thus the water collects on the inside surface.
