like the human ehe the bird's eyes also has some cells.thet are called rods and cones.rods are sensitive to the intensity of the light rays entering the eye while the cones respond only to bright light and are color sensitive.for example a chick has this kind of cells.it can see colors but only in the bright light.so the chick goes to sleep during dusk(sunset) and wakes up at dawn(sunrise).

Yes birds do have colour identity but they got an extra sheild for UV rays
