Nope, I don't buy it. The earth has gone through countless cycles of warming and cooling, with absolutely no help from humans whatsoever. There was even a mini-Ice Age not that long ago - George Washington's time - due to a volcanic eruption. The problem with the scientists who say that global warming is occurring is that they are NOT global climatologists. They don't measure the actual warming, they measure the "effects" and then draw conclusions. For all those people who say that the polar caps are melting, are you aware that the amount of Southern Pole ice is actually INCREASING? No, of course you don't because you get your information from people like Al Gore, who doesn't have a clue what he's talking about yet feels compelled to make a movie about his ignorance. Whether it's relying on scientists who claim to know about climatology but aren't in that field of science, or making direct comparisons of ice measurements that are taken in DIFFERENT SEASONS, his manipulation of the facts is reprehensible.

I agree with you 100%. In the 80's they were saying that we were going to go through another ice age! Now in the year 2006 they say the icecaps are melting. Those scientists in the 80's were so positive too, it frightened me at the time. I was in high school and we were discussing it in class. Our planet goes through cycles and it isn't from us and our SUV's. It is a natural cycle of the planet, if anything at all. No one can convince me otherwise. I see the global warming movie sucked at that box office, but it sure had high reviews from the liberal media. Go figure!

I have noticed (like with subjects like dinosaurs and evolution) scientist will say things are true when they're only a theory.
Here is my point:
Dinosaurs: The origonal story of these creatures and if they died out was just a theory, and still should be. In Africa and South America, there are areas where dinosaurs could live undiscovered. I would also like to mention how tomestones from that area in SA are suppose to depict way of death,......one of the most famous was of a man riding one of the flying ones, I have seen it for myself. Another showed a man battling off with a plate one. The plate one was spotted. How did they know what the dinosaurs looked like? Let alone if they were speckled or not? In fact it was proven that dinosaurs had spoted skin(there is only one peice of fossilized dino skin)
Scientist don't become scientis just to learn things, but to make money. I believe they're just saying this stuff so people will want them to reaserch it thus they get money.
I also like to make another point- why are we going into space, and waisting money dwelling in the past of the earth, if we could use it to save the earth? Scientist need to get there head out of their butts and help save our earth not leave it. I think highly of scientist who actually do research on helping the earth, at least we have some helpful ones.

They aren't trying to control our minds. They want us to use our minds. You have no evidence that the media must hype this issue or that anyone can sell us anything for it.

Eccentricity of the orbit also plays a part in climate change. But it doesn't sound so media friendly. ;)
