well one example of kentong-bayan is "ANG MABUTING ANTING-ANTING"

Summary:
in an island in the country of the Philippines there lives a Datu with three sons. he ordered each one of them to find a mabuting "anting-anting" for whoever finds a mabuting anting-ating he. will inherit the throne for he was old. so the next day they went out in there seperate ways after they we're blessed by their father. after a year the eldest returned with a "mabuting anting-anting". he showed it to his father. the anting-anting is a whip. it can hurt the enemy so much even though he is far( the enemy) or invincible( the enemy). the Datu seems pleased. they waited for the the other two(his sons). after some days. his second son came and was greeted by the village like the first one. he showed his mabuting anting-anting to the Datu. the power of his anting-anting is to make the owner invincible when you say evil chants to it. the second son became rich cause of using the anting-anting in a bad way. he even say that is has many uses like kidnapping women and such. A forced smile was on the datu's lips. after some few days his youngest child came home. he doesn't brought back anything but he seems contented. when he(Datu) ask his son where is the anting-anitng in a angry manner his son says that he travel far and wide. Was offered and found many anting-anting but he rejected it because if he use those anting-anting he is just going to hurt other people and he doesn't want to disobey the Golden Rule. thus, his mabuting anting-anting he offered is his good-relationship with others. he aslo added that using it(the anting-anting he offered:good realtionship with others) he will have many friends and he will be contented and secured wherever he goes. the Datu was so glad that he stood up from his chair and hug his youngest son saying that from now on that he(youngest son) will be his heir. Because the anting-anting he brought may it not be touch physically but is a big part of life. it is LOVE (the anting-anting) that will change the world full of SELFISH PEOPLE.
