I think they're connected - after all, why should the week specified in Genesis literally be 7 days? How long is a day for God?
HOWEVER, there is less proof for evolution than there is that Jesus lived and was crucified, so I know which theory I'm sticking with.

Evolution is established science: it makes predictions which are relied upon by workers in the field because they give useful (i.e., correct) answers. It is called a theory, and is denigrated as such by some (including several responders) as unproven, but NO scientific theory can ever be proven. Based on piles of evidence from numerous fields, evolution is now accepted as correct by anyone who understands it. It requires only two things to work: selection, which is obvious; and variation, which is seen all the time. (Essentially every commercially important animal or plant has evolved by variation and human selection, often to the point that the present variety is no longer cross-fertile with the original wild type: it is, in every sense, a new species.)
Some people, ignorant of how science is done, offer theories such as "intelligent design" to explain modern life. The problem with such theories is that they are sterile: they can predict nothing, because they are irrefutable. It is provable that the predictive power of any theory obtains exclusively from its refutability. Since there is no way to establish the proposition that God did NOT create everythng as we now see it, theories such as creationism and intelligent design, even though they could be true, can predict nothing and are useless. If evolution were wrong, counterexamples would have been found. None have been.
The bible, on the other hand, has hundreds of errors, as well as dozens of internal contradictions. It is therefore silly to use it as an authority on anything.

A theory is theory. It is not truth. It may contain truth, may be modified, or may eventually be thrown out as rot. Evolution is an unproved theory. The Biblical story of creation is known by revelation. That is, someone (the Creator) revealed to us what could not be known in any other way. Revelation is a valid means of knowing, just as theory is valid means of searching for knowledge.
But if you read the story of the Creation it has an internal integrity about it that takes it out of the realm of mythology and you must either take God at his Word, that this is how the world came into being and that God's relationship to man is intimate and immediate and gives the world meaning and morality built in, intrinsically, to it; or you can flounder around with the various ideas about evolution, for there is no coherent theory out there that has ever been proved. Evolution is popular because it helps man avoid the problem of sin and our personal responsibility for it. God bless and I hope you find out that has always been God who has been telling the truth.

The theory of evolution is all false. The Bible does have some truth in it. But the majority of it has been corrupted. Why are there so many different verisons of the Bible?

I think the bible gives us at least a good idea of what could have happened. Intelligent design does not necessarily remove evolution from the equation nor does it automatically demand the christian "god". For all we know it could have been a race of aliens tweaking with genetics here and there while letting evolution take its course. After all our ancestors saw the same flint rocks, the same ores in the ground the same wood on the ground for at least a few thousand years before they put two and two together. I think those who stick only to evolution leave too many questions unanswered. For instance if humans needed basic tools and weapons to develop intelligence and intelligence to develop basic tools and weapons then how did they survive. If our ancestors had to develop weapons to survive against creatures that were much better naturally armed and if it took millions of years to do it then how come we survived all that time. I'm not saying you have to necessarily buy into the theory of creation because you can have it both ways. Email me if you want more info on my theory.

Truth is relative
evolution is a theory backed up by logical time lines, fossil records,DNA,and carbon dating
gravity is a theory too, but is supported and believed for similar reasons. The bible is a fictional account not unlike Greek mythology.
Look up the Greek god Prometheus, he died (giving humanity fire, after they failed final judgment from the Olympians) so the others could live. He is for all intents and purposes the regional Jesus of Greece. He also predates Jesus by about 2000 years.

If you want to know who is the truth I believe/ I am sure that bible is the truth cause in ancient time a saint sat and he wrote a book through his power. He fasted for a long time and medicated so that he could write all the truths of the word. That book is named as ' righvedh ' and it says if u want the truth follow that person who died for your sin and shame on the cross. So I can say that Bible is the only source of the truth you can get.

I have to laught at some of the answers to your question. There is the Christian view and the view of the non-believer.

There are two creation narratives in the book of Genesis and scholars are more or less agreed that neither was intended to be taken literally. For example, for God to create the earth and everything in it in 6 days is a bit of a tall order even for God. It is, in effect a parabolic story. Most liberal believers now take the view that at the head of an evolutionary process was the hand of God. In other words God started a process rather than a single creative act. He put in place the system which would allow His creation to evolve according to its needs in order to survive.

Hello,
I believe the bible to be correct, and that evolution is part of God's plan for life. Einstein came to be a great believer in God through his discovery of truth through science. I believe the more "real" truth that mankind learns, the closer he becomes to the truth God used to create the world. As you learn about the order of the universe, there is little room for doubt that God created this wonderful universe in which we live.
