They are VERY hot on checking for drugs at the airports and the dogs are out with the handlers. However, Singapore is a WONDERFUL place to visit and I would think that it is one of the safest places in the world to travel alone.
If you travel by Singapore Airlines you get your hotel at a reduced price, and you get a sticker badge to wear saying, "I am traveling with Singapore Airlines" then you get a discount in some shops and eating places! We stayed at the Furama and I can highly recommend it. The service was second to none and the meal in the restaurant was half price when you are a guest there. If I could afford it I would definitely go again.

Singapore is probably one of the safest places on earth to go alone.
Just make sure you dont bring in any drugs. They still have the death penalty.
