I know I've found my soul mate.we've been very good friends for over 9 years.just last two weeks he proposed to me and I accepted and told my parents.They know him very well and yet they did not accept him not because of his doing.Mum claims his Mum really treated badly some time ago and my father is not talking to his dad.they explained things to me and i understood them but I havent been able to and i dont think I'll ever get over it.what should i do.His dad has threatened my dad with a gun before.But I love the guy too.what do I do since he didnt do anything?I've been crying since then and havent been myself or happy.U can email me.its onel2k@yahoo.com.I need seriuos and practical answers please.We are all Christians.

u should jux have a heart to heart talk with ur parents.... tell em that their generation's enemity shouldn't affect both of u... its too unfair!!! worse come to worse, elope! but its not a berri good way...

First of all it is really hard to have a clear mind when it comes to love... All the emotions mess up with our heads..So you should really listen to what your parents are saying and really think about it... Are you sure that what they have said doesn't influence you at all? are you sure he is not like his parents arE?
If you are sure and you know that you love him, hold on to it...Talk to him about it.. together you will sort it out! Do you need ur parents approval to be with him?

Simple. This will surely work out.
You go and speak to his parents and ask him to speak to your parents. First they may ignore you or even hurt you but think of his love towards you and your love towards him, then, nothing can stop from moving ahead. Fight hard to change their heart. Surely one day both will agree, then there will be NO NEED to live without HIM.

you could explain your feelings to your parents. tell them its about him and not his family. you have to decide whats more important. do you think you could move on and find someone else? if the answers no then you know you have to do what your heart tells you. be selfish for once.
