An Inuit fisherman tries to light a fire in his kayak and it sinks.
Moral of the story; You cant have your kayak and heat it too.

You cant eat the cake and still have it, and you seem to be an argumentative sort of guy that hasn't even paid for the cake in the first place .
So don't come into my cake shop again trying to cause bother, just take your piece of cake , pay for it and vacate the premises before I call the cops, you probably already have warrants out for creating havoc and they are looking for you already!!
I've met a lot of you trouble makers before!! Now get out!!
(I think I'm going as mental as you)??

Haha but can you really?
Once you´ve eaten the cake you won´t have it anymore
So yes you can have the cake and eat it too but you can´t have the cake AND eat it too
Unless you ate some of it....

You may have it now, but in 2 or 3 days time you will lose it forever - gone down the drain with all the other food you ate today.

So in the long run - you can't eat your cake and have it, too.

Cream, eh? Did it have chocolate on, too?

Anyone can have cake and eat it. It takes real effort, however, to eat cake and have it. Once eaten, few would really care to have it, too.
Another one of those mangled adages, like "I could care less" - it sounded better to some boob's tin ear, so it stuck that way.

Just eat the cake.

I think the idea is that you can't have the cake in conventionally thought of cake form and eat it too.
Though I'm not sure why nobody ever says you can't make your bed and lie in it too... sounds a bit unfair to me.

It's sounds like you're about to have someone elses cake and eat it. Why waste your time reading these answers, just get stuck in - down in one!

If you eat the cake, you don't have the cake anymore, you have a stomach full of dissolving sugar.

Now you have had your cake and eaten it...would you have felt more fulfilled if it had been someone else's and you still had your own cake and hadn't eaten it yet...Such a dilemma in life
