why is there still so much violence and road rage going on constantly? Aren't we supposed to be beyond that, as civilized humans?

well if people think like you, maybe the roadrage will come down. people are always in a hurry and want to be early to their workplace or their destination. so they drive fast. as for violence, not all people are civilized. it is the matter of ego that makes them violent, i.e. to gain dominance and prominence, they resort to violence.

I can tell you why. for a reason like this--- someone who drives a stick shift, smokes a cigarette, and talks on a cell while driving all over (passing lane) the highway going 35 miles an hour in a 45+ zone in the process holding up approaching traffic @ rush hour hr. That pisses me off. That is what causes road rage. Stupid people doing stupid human tricks.

Life has a way of taking a 90% turn. Once developed countries looked at less developed one and wrongly called them 'uncivilized', now the behavior of people in these developed countries can rightly be called - uncivilized.
So, no we're not supposed to be civilized humans, we've gone past that.

Road Rage. Seems to me that this is the product of incompetent thought, whether by natural "birthright" or chemically induced.

We are fortunate to have good laws in this country anyway.

Road rage is happening more often because people are getting more and more stressed out with longer commutes and more traffic.

..the lack of courtesy of people in general. they cannot simply follow basic rules of the road. they drive in the passing lane. and will not pull over if a car comes up behind them. they drive with cell phones and don't pay attention to their driving. basically just stupidity. also yes stress in every ones lives as well but if people simply used what USED to be common sense. things could go much easier. .. plus it is not only the road. but we run across these idiots in every facet of our lives. be it grocery stores. department stores and we are simply sick of it.

I lived in L.A. for a while. road rage was the result of SO much traffic on a freeway that you would get there faster if you walked. (of course no one walks in L.A.!)
