Why does it feel im the only one who dont like rap?

Question

My question is, why do people Love rap so much. I grew up in a Hispanic neighborhood (Funny cause they all acted black). I notice im sitting here listening to Alkaline Trio, While everyone i know is over there listening to crap about whores and moneys :P

I love rap/hiphop, well...not so much the mainstream crap playing on the radio these days. But the main thing here to realize is that it's okay to not appreciate things the way others do; that's called tolerance. I've never even heard of Alkaline Trio, and I don't think I'd enjoy their music, but I bet they sound good to some people, like yourself. I'm not gonna knock it, but I'll simply say, "no thanks," and send it on it's way to someone else's ears.

Rap's not all about money, sex, drugs, women, and the like. Surely most of the "pop" rap is, but the industry doesn't wanna push socially-conscious hiphop because they are afraid that there's no money in it, and that the government will become an even bigger enemy than what it already is.

You're 16, so you're still very young. Just learn to accept, if not appreciate.

I don't like rap, so you're not alone... I know what you're saying "Yay there is hope" My opinion is that only morons like rap... infact my ex bf would be the perfect case study... he like's rap he is a moron! Case closed :P

And I'm only 21, so it's not like I'm like 100 or something and calling it crap! :P

I grew up with rap in my teenage years and now I'm 37 and still love it.I also like almost any kind of other music. Lots of people who unfortunately don't like rap are people who don't dig deeper cause some rappers talk about politics,social messages, humor,and even spirituality :(Jesus walks/Kanye West)! If you say you don't like rap cause they don't sing though,:

I feel the same as you do. You are not alone. I mean it's not really the RAP itself that I hate but the lyrics in their so-called "songs." My brother listens to them and it's about sex, money, violence, and all those bad things. I am not saying that I want all songs that are idealistic but the way they phrase the songs are disgusting and nasty.
