Money is merely an exchange facility. Through time, it became the most convenient instrument. What happens underneath the inflow and outflow of money, however, is the exchange of resources. To add more convenience, people tagged these resources with price (monetary measure of its value) to indicate how much money it wants in exchange. No matter what price may be tagged, people get them with different reactions or with varying attitudes.
Why?
Because it is the value of resources that really matters; and every individual is different from another when they are weighed by their values. Especially that personality is also a system of values, the amount of money in one's reserve does not hold for accounting happiness.
Happiness for having money is an illusory mental state. The threat of reducing (or losing) such money creates also in the person a motivation for violence (expressed as "need for security"). Getting motivated or attracted to money is merely an impulse. To make such impulse definitive of one's life purpose is ignorance.
What really matters is equilibrium. But then again, this is also determined by one's mental state that is dependent on one's system of values.

I think that if you meet someone who is rich or poor & you really like them then the cash thing shouldn't be an issue.
Don't get me wrong, money helps take pressure off you for living expenses & day to day stuff but I'm not about the material stuff at all.
Money is just spent, love & experience are the real treasures I think.

If you can find a way to live so you can meet your basic needs (food, shelter, safety, belonging, etc.) without money then you can be happy. Most people can't meet all their basic needs with money and are therefore unhappy. Money can't make you happy. Learning to live in a way that you fill your lower and higher level needs will lead you to happiness.

i think being broke and content is hard, its not the money that makes tou happy but what yiou get with it. it is very hard to be unstressed/ content when you have to worry about paying bills, buying food etc. however, you can be happy without that new pair of shoes, a big car, a fancy kitchen, etc.

It is possible to be happy with or without money. However it is very difficult to be happy without covering your basic human needs, and in most situations, they have to be paid for... eg
A child can be perfectly happy with simply being loved, it doesn't need money
But
An adult that can't afford a home or food is not happy

If you cant buy food or shelter or clothing, misery and depression is inevitable...but if you live on an island where you can be self-sufficient then my answer would be yes, you can be happy without money.

not entirely;loads of money does not bring happiness but earning it does give a sense of personal achievement.giving it away is the icing on the cake when it is seen to improve the circumstance of other humans
