for japanese films you have:
1 ju-on the grudge (come on. you have to admit - kayako and her son, toshio, are creepy)
2 the ring (4 films under this. sadako is well, one scary woman)
3 miike's audition (this is a gripping movie, seriously, it's even painful)
4 infection (ahh... green slime... or goo... oh heck. there's a lot of green stuff and blood as well)
5 one missed call (there's a sequel to this too! it's an okay movie, not that great...)
6 dark water (this is the original which means to say that it is way better than the american remake)
thai:
1 shutter (trust me, this one is good. this is the only thai horror movie i liked. the other ones are just not good.)
chinese:
1 the eye (good ones are the first and second movies, the third one which is entitled eye infinity, i haven't watched yet)
2 new blood (will make you even more jumpy than the first eye movie)
korean:
1 dolls (great plot, a really good movie)
2 a tale of two sisters (psychological movie, a good one too)
3 wishing stairs (part of the whispering corridors series. i think this one's the third. the second one is memento mori, which is more of a drama than a horror movie)
4 bunshinsaba (it's okay...)
5 acacia (didn't quite scary me but okay, there was an okay plot, in a sense)

The original films directed by Hideo Nakata were much better than the English remakes. (Ring, Ring 2, The Grudge, etc.)
