Brazil: It was a shocking news that France could beat them even though France defeated them 8 years back in the finals.
Argentina: They were really good. The problem was penalities.
Besides reaching into finals I would like:
Ghana to atleast appear in the quarter-finals
Ivory Coast to atleast appear in the round of 16

Shocking Performance:
1> Czech Republic not qualifying in round of 16
2> Poland being beaten by Ecuador & Germany
3> Ghana defeating Czech Republic
4> Ecaudor qualifying in Round of 16
5> Australia qualifying for Round of 16
6> France through to the round of 16 even though held for 2 draws.
7> France defeated Brazil 1-0
8> 16 yellow cards & 4 red cards in the match between Portugal & Netherlands
9> Germany beating Argentina
10> Italy beating hosts Germany
Anything else that I missed out?

I liked 4 teams to be in this step,Germany,Portugal,Spain and Switzerland & I think that the 1st 3 deserved.

From among the teams eliminated in the group stages: Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast). What brilliant football!!! From among the group of 16, definitely AUSTRALIA; they were robbed by Grosso's dive in the dying seconds of the match. Who knows what they might have done if they had got past Italy?

Australia, and I truly believe that they could have done it. Germany would have been really tough, but they might have been able to do it and they could have beaten Italy if italy hadn't cheated but they definately could have beaten Ukraine. THey also could have beaten France and maybe Portugal and they gave Brazil a tough time when they played them, if Brazil had gone through.

I really love the German team. They have a really good all around game and the players don't play dirty. You don't see them pretending to be hurt just so that they can get an advantage on the other team. They play as a team, and not as individuals.

Argentina!!! That game with Germany was SO CLOSE, and with our goalkeeper injured suddenly we had no chance. The Germans knew it, too, since the last 2 games we had tied as well.
