I can't just choose one for depending on where the person is and what time it is determins which one I do---so it is all 3 for me situations are never the same---if I had to choose it would be in person but that isn't on the list

Depends on three factors logically: One: how well is the friend in relation to me. Two: how sensitive is the subject of what I want to tell this person and Three: what is the most safe/secure means of communication.
Let's look into the four communicative means a second:
Chat and Email: both can be easily compromised "wiretapped" by an experienced hacker; not too safe a means to tell someone something personal.
Write a note or "snail mail" letter: again, there's a chance someone else's eyes may happen on what's written.
Phone: Any 10 year old electrical enthusist who lives at Radio Shack can wire tap a phone; FBI / CIA and the new Homeland Security have recently proven it can do such better with their new whiz bang "top secret" computer super toy.
So, how secure do you feel your privacy now is?????

Chat is my first choice. Especially if it's a text message on my phone. It's quick and it allows for communication without all of the stuff in between.

If I don't like to talk to hem/her b-coz he/she talkative I send email
If I like hem/her and he/she live too far and talk by phone is cost too much I use chat
In the work alway using email (documenting is official)
If I love her I always used Phone Call the cost is doesn't matter and I like to hear her wonderfull voice
My parents did not using Internet so I am usin PhonCalls
My answer is too long , I am takative use email with me

I'd phone them so i can add emotions to my talk and have a spectacular ending by slamming down the phone. it's beautiful

I'm horrible. I'd rather email. I don't think I'm strong enough to talk with someone face to face to say what needs to be said.

and chat with him through PC to PC call facility
