It totally depend on the person who prescribes this to you. How good study has he made taking in to consideration your birth chart. If the prescription is correct then It also depend on the quality of the GEM stone. If everything is nicely done it works wonders.

A gemstone can not physically bring good health. However, some people believe in the "healing powers" of gemstones, and that could cause a placebo effect. As far as peace of mind goes, knowing my necklace matches my outfit or sets me apart from others on the street can bring me some minor peace of mind. Many gemstones are surrounded by ancient traditions and folklore, which add a bit of "magic" to a person's day every time they wear it just because it triggers a bit of imagination.

Some religions believe they do. Mostly Naturalists and Wiccans. Some Pagan religions believe stones have supernatural powers. Most people just think they're pretty.
