That annoys me SO much.
Plus, if you literally gave 100%, you'd be dead because you wouldn;t be putting any efoort or energy into breathing or your heart beating.
Another one is when sports commentators say: "The crowd are lierally losing their heads!" -erm... I should hope they aren't.

Obviously you can have percentages greater than 100% but, I agree, it's annoying when people use percentages for things like effort. Anything you can't measure shouldn't be based on percentages anyway. Therefore it's usually people's lack of vocabulary that makes them say "110%" etc. when they could be saying something like "I put in my maximum effort".
I'm sure there are other expressions that are just as wearisome as 110% and you'll find they are said by the same kind of people.

I'm with you on that.. Though I think the numbers continue to go up when people are bored of hearing 110%, i.e it becomes cliched and so to stress the importance of their cause they need an amount which will reflect this...
I have put 100% effort into this answer; surely this deserves points... x

Don't get annoyed. That means they are overconfident and overdoing it. There are very few things that are 100% sure, let alone more... but it is a figure of speech, used to accent their point. Like exaggeration.

Well, technically, you're correct. The idea of some percentage above 100% is an exaggeration emphasising "give it absolutely your very best".

Me! It really annoys me when people say it.
You can only put effort in at 100% which is another way of saying you are trying your best.

It's because half of the people nowadays are stupid and the other 64% can't add up.
